DCR's overall rating is 99.5%. DCR received a Not Compliant Notice involving employees over the age of 40 with in-band adjustments for EEO Code D, Protective Service Workers. DCR can document that the Law Enforcement and Chief Rangers' applicant pools attract over 75% of appplicants under the age of 40. Applicants accepted as law enforcement officers attend 20 weeks of intensive law enforcement training at the Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy. Upon satisfactory completion of the academy, employees are awarded a 10% in-band adjustment. The ratio of applicants who apply over/under the age of 40 is beyond the control of the agency.

DCR's overall rating is 78%. Two reasons why initial job offers are turned down: (1) DCR has many job applicants who use a DCR job offer to negotiate a competitive salary offer with their current agency or other employer and who end up turning down the offer by DCR and (2) DCR advertises jobs with a maximum salary level. Often candidates who are offered the job are making more than the advertised maximum salary and are still trying to negotiate above the advertised maximum. DHRM policy prevents state agencies from exceeding advertised salary ranges. This lower score is beyond the control of the agency.

While DCR's rating as of 6/30/09 was 12.6%, as of 7/31/09, DCR's rating was 31%. It should be noted that many employees who are eligible to teleword choose not to because they prefer the office environment for working.
