Performance Measure
Department of Transportation
 Service Area
Transportation Operations Services

 Objective
We will preserve, manage, and operate the existing transportation system through technology and more efficient operation.

 Measure
Annual Hours of Delay per Traveler due to congestion on state highways in Northern Virginia, as measured by the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI).
Last Modified: 30-Jan-08
Measure Methodology
Results are extracted from the TTI Urban Mobility Report (UMR), currently produced annually on a 2 year lag (2005 Report provides 2003 results, etc…). Therefore, the impact of 2008 - 2010 Biennium strategies implemented with the period's start in FY2009 will be reviewable in the 2011 TTI publication, at the earliest. Note that TTI reports results for the Washington DC area, without specifically providing analysis for the Northern Virginia portion of that region. For more information on TTI’s UMR program and methodologies, please visit their website at http://mobility.tamu.edu/
